Coming Back to Life in Times of Crisis

No doubt, we are in the midst of times that demand our strength and resilience and our courageous hearts.

Over four weeks, this course will guide people through the spiral of Joanna Macy's The Work That Reconnects – a profound and much needed body of practice that reconnects participants to each other and the web of life. In coming back to life, we come to rest in a sense of interconnection and a deeper hope, we find strength and resilience, and we find refuge amidst the turmoil.

This course consists of four live online workshops, starting Monday September 7 (Australian Eastern Time):

  • Module One: Monday September 7, 630-830pm
  • Module Two: Monday September 14, 630-830pm
  • Module Three: Monday September 21, 630-830pm
  • Module Four: Monday September 28, 630-830pm

This course can be taken on its own or with its companion course: The Courageous Heart: Yoga & Buddhism for Challenging Times

All sessions will be via zoom, and recorded.

About the Work That Reconnects

The Work That Reconnects is the work of our time, created by Joanna Macy and others it has emerged with the Deep Ecology movement. This body of practice aims to heal the separation between human and nature - the next big cognitive shift that needs to be made (or returned to) for the health of our planet. In the Work That Reconnects we align with the regenerative power of life. The Work That Reconnects spirals through four stages: Grounding in Gratitude, Honouring Pain for the World, Seeing with New/Ancient Eyes and Going Forth. Workshops generally contain a mixture of group processes, meditations, nature connection, deep time work and it has pulled me out of despair and helplessness many a time. The feeling of resting in a deeper hope and connection is one I want to share with others.

Hi, I'm Anna

I'm a yoga teacher and facilitator of The Work That Reconnects and Deep Ecology. My work in the world is in facilitating opportunities for people to connect to their wild nature through movement, deep ecology, presence in nature and Work That Reconnects workshops. I spent a year studying and practicing through the Work That Reconnects Facilitator Development Program, diving deep into this beautiful practice that held me in my ecological grief and also gave me so much solace and joy and a feeling of resting in the deep. I hope to share this feeling with you by facilitating this program. Life is a powerful regenerative force, here for us to tap into, here to hold us as we heal, even as everything falls apart.
